KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamat-e-Islami Thursday supported a Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) dissident Mustafa Kamal on Thursday asked the government to ban the MQM in light of allegations of collaboration with Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
PTI member of the Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman has announced to move a resolution in the assembly, calling for a ban on MQM.
“If there is even 5 percent truth in the allegations against political parties being backed by RAW, those parties must be banned” Kamal said while addressing a press conference outside his residence.
JI leader Hafiz Naeem said that Mustafa Kamal has put forth the demand now, adding that in the past his party used to raise the same demand.
However, Awami National Party (ANP) leader Shahi Sayed said that his party is not in favour of banning any political party.
