Dubai to build tower taller than Burj Khalifa

The new tower designed to be the centrepiece of the Dubai Creek Harbour development will be slightly taller than the Burj Khalifa, Emaar Properties’ chairman Mohamed Alabbar revealed today.


The viewing tower will cost around US$1 billion ($1.35 billion) and will be “a notch” taller than Burj Khalifa, Emaar chairman Mohamed Alabbar told reporters as he revealed details of the project.

Designed by Spanish-Swiss architect Santiago Calatrava Valls, the tower will have observation decks, in addition to 18 to 20 mixed-use floors that will host restaurants and a boutique hotel, Alabbar said.
