ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, PT] Chairman, Monday announced rescheduling of intra-party election for what he called in the backdrop of Panama Papers’ startling revelations.
Talking to media after PTI’s Central Executive Council meeting, Imran said the intra-party election would not be held till the party’s march to Raiwind.
Yesterday, Imran had given an ultimatum till April 24 – PTI’s foundation day – to respond to his demands of probing Panama Papers revelation otherwise his party would march to Raiwind.
The PTI’s decision comes a day after grouping in the party surfaced after Shah Mehmood Qureshi censured his fellow party leaders Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Jahangir Tareen.
He said that he would part ways with the politics the day he would have to seek party tickets from people like Jahangir Tareen and Chaudhry Sarwar.
He said that it is a golden opportunity to put an end to corruption in the country.
Despite Chaudhry Nisar’s repeated refusals, The PTI chief adamant to celebrate the party’s 20thfoundation day at F-9 Park in Islamabad.
“We will celebrate PTI’s anniversary on April 24 at F-9 Park, where we will give future course of action to press government investigate Panama Papers disclosures,” Imran said.
Replying to a question, the PTI chairman said that he is ready to meet Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to finalize venue of the PTI’s rally.
Earlier, Nisar ruled out permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for holding the rally at D-Chowk or F-9 Park. He said that he is open to meet Imran Khan on the issue.
