MQM workers stopped from heading to CM House

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders and workers Sunday began marched towards Chief Minister House from Karachi Press Club, where the party workers and leaders have been staging sit-in since yesterday .


MQM leader Amin ul Haq demanded of the Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah to hold negotiations with them over the matter of “missing persons”.

“We also staged a sit-in over the issue of missing persons in the past and I hope our demands would be met,” he said.

Earlier, MQM leader Kanwar Naveed Jameel had announced to shift the party’s ongoing sit-in from Karachi Press Club to Chief Minister House.

The MQM leader has been staging a sit-in since yesterday against what they called illegal arrests of the party workers and non-arrest of the workers’ killers.

Kanwar Naveed Jameel said the party leaders and workers would head to the “captain of Karachi operation”.

He vowed that the workers would remain peaceful during their sit-in outside the Chief Minister House. He said that they would submit a memorandum to the chief ministe.
