Pakistan has qualified for the final of Asian Team Squash championship after beating India 2-1 in the semi-final on Saturday in Taipei.
India got the initial lead in the semi-final when Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu defeated Farhan Zaman 3-2 in crunch battle with the match score of 4-11, 11-8, 11-7, 10-12, 11-6.
Tayyab Aslam launched the fight back for Pakistan to beat Kush Kumar 3-2 in another nail biting match between the neighboring countries to level the semi-final at 1-1.
Tayyab was once 2-1 down in the match but fought hard to win last two games to keep Pakistan alive in the game. Tayyab’s win score against Kumar was 11-7, 11-13, 8-11, 13-11 and 11-3.
Pakistan’s top player Farhan Mahboob looked comfortable in final match against Velavan Senthikumar and won it comfortably with score of 3-1.
Former champions Pakistan will now take on Hong Kong in the final of event to be played on Sunday.
