Pakistan, China working closely to promote regional peace: ISPR

BEIJING: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif Tuesday met Chinese civilian and military leadership in Beijing to discuss regional security and common challenges.


The COAS, who is on a two-day official visit to China, met Chinese PM, Vice Chairman of Central Military Commission, Chief of General Staff  and foreign minister.

According to Director General of Inter Services Public Relations Lt-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, the both sides reaffirmed that ties between Pakistan and China area evergreen and deep rooted.

They agreed to work closely to implement China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and to promote peace and stability in the region, he said.

Chinese political and military leadership reassured that they would continue to support Pakistan in ensuring the country’s sovereignty, integrity, national security and development, Bajwa added.

The Both sides agreed on the imperative of peace and stability in South Asia. “Challenges to Pakistan are challenges to China,” Chinese leaders said.
