Police foil arms smuggling bid in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Police foiled an arms smuggling bid as they recovered large cache of weapons and ammunition from Motorway Toll Plaza.


According to details, Islamabad Police found seized large number of ammunition and explosives from a car during checking. The recovered weapons included pistols, shotguns and sub-machine guns.

The cops took two persons named Nadeemullah and Kamran Haider, who were travelling in the vehicle, into their custody.

Police said that the suspects were trying to smuggle the weapons into Punjab from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The cops added that the ammunition was to carry out terrorist activities in the province.
