Pakistan’s opening batsman Sharjeel Khan has claimed that he has been “blackmailed” by some unknown men who are threatening.
Sharjeel revealed this in a video message on Thursday morning, the message was posted on Sharjeel Khan’s Twitter profile.
“I’ve been receiving threat calls from unknown numbers for last few days, demanding money from me. They say they have made my fake videos, which they are going to upload on social media to defame me and jeopardize my career on stake if I did not pay the money,” Sharjeel said.
“I believe I should bring this into your knowledge that all such videos are fake,” he said.
It is still not clear if Sharjeel has reported the matter to local police or not but reports suggest that Pakistan Cricket Board, taking note of the matter, has ordered an inquiry.
“Chairman PCB has ordered its security and vigilance unit to conduct the inquiry and report within three days,” a source said.
Sharjeel Khan has represented Pakistan in 11 ODIs and 11 T20Is and is considered as an aggressive opening batsman
